The Petco Foundation

The Petco Foundation made a huge investment in the Shenandoah Valley by awarding a $50,000 grant to the Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center.  With these funds, we were able to continue our lifesaving programs and maintain our 95% save rate.

Maddie's Fund

Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center is the proud recipient of funding from Maddie's Fund®, helping to achieve a no-kill nation #ThanksToMaddie.

Maddie's Fund is a family foundation founded in 1994 by Workday co-founder Dave Duffield and his wife, Cheryl, who have endowed the Foundation with more than $300 million. Since then, they have awarded more than $153 million in grants toward increased community lifesaving, shelter medicine education and pet adoptions across the U.S. The Duffields named Maddie's Fund after their miniature schnauzer Maddie, who always made them laugh and comforted them during stressful business times when Dave was launching a startup software company. Maddie was with Dave and Cheryl from 1987-1997 and continues to inspire them today.

Adoption Partners

When you visit area Petco stores, be sure to say hello to the four-legged friends available for adoption. Some of our adoptable kitties have been featured in their Staunton, Virginia stores, and we have been lucky enough to hold regular adoption events at various Petco locations as well.
