Low-Cost Medical Assistance

  • The Mosby Foundation helps qualified limited-income pet parents facing extenuating veterinary circumstances no one could possibly foresee.
  • The Animal Care Assistance Program (ACAP) offers funds to low-income pet owners in rural Central Virginia and surrounding counties.

Pet Food Assistance Programs

  • Friends of SVASC is proud to offer a Community Pet Food Pantry thanks to generous donors in the community. The pantry is housed here at SVASC and we are able to provide dry cat and dog food, along with other necessities, such as kitty litter, collars, and leashes. Please note that these items are provided based on donations, and therefore supply varies day-to-day. Email us at SVASC@co.augusta.va.us for more information on this program.

Trap - Neuter - Return

In a Trap-Neuter-Return program, community cats are humanely trapped (with box traps), brought to a veterinarian to be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, ear-tipped (the universal sign that a community cat has been neutered and vaccinated), and then returned to their outdoor home.

Read more about TNR by visiting Alley Cat Allies page here.

For TNR assistance, please reach out to Cat's Cradle at (540) 433-1135 and leave a voicemail expressing interest in their TNR program. While Cat's Cradle is based in Harrisonburg, VA they are frequently able to assist residents of Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County.
