To adopt an animal from Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center, you will need to fill out an adoption application. Upon approval, there is a non-refundable adoption fee.
All animals must be spayed/neutered within 30 days of adoption if they are not already spayed/neutered. This will be the new owners responsibility. Out of the area adoptions are welcome, but the animal would need to be spayed/neutered prior to going to its new home.
Cats are $35 and the fee includes distemper vaccination, deworming, flea/tick treatment, and microchipping. Many of our cats have already been spayed/neutered and are current on rabies vaccination. If the cat still needs to be spayed/neutered, the cost of surgery and rabies vaccination are the responsibility of the new owner.
Combo testing for cats can be done for an additional fee if it has not already been done.
The cats have all received distemper and have also have been dewormed.
