To adopt an animal from Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center, you will need to fill out an adoption application. Upon approval, there is a non-refundable adoption fee.
Dogs on location at SVASC are $175. The fee includes all vaccinations (rabies, distemper and bordatella) 4DX testing, spay/neuter, flea & tick preventatives, deworming, and microchipping.
Cats are $35 and the fee includes distemper vaccination, deworming, flea/tick treatment, and microchipping. Many of our cats have already been spayed/neutered and are current on rabies vaccination. If the cat still needs to be spayed/neutered, the cost of surgery and rabies vaccination are the responsibility of the new owner.
Combo testing for cats can be done for an additional fee if it has not already been done.
All animals must be spayed/neutered within 30 days of adoption if they are not already spayed/neutered. This will be the new owners responsibility. Out of the area adoptions are welcome, but the animal would need to be spayed/neutered prior to going to its new home. All dogs have received the distemper and bordetella vaccines and have been dewormed. The cats have all received distemper and have also have been dewormed.
Please remember that in the City of Staunton and Augusta County, there is a limit of four dogs per household. You must have a special use permit if you are over the limit.
These are the adoptable pets that we have available at this time. Please contact us with any questions.
