Philippe update!!

Breaking news, Philippe has been adopted!!! His foster mom accepted what he had known from the start, that it wasn’t ok for him to go live anywhere else so officially added him to her family!!

Philippe has had a long journey to get to this point. When he was brought to SVASC, he was a tiny, terrified, fearful, and injured kitten with a questionable future. Today, he is happy, trusting, loved by anyone who spends time with him, and living a healthy, if not normal life! Whether Philippe will make further medical improvement is something only time will tell, but he has recovered well since his surgery and his health overall is good!

Philippe wouldn’t be where he is today without the support he has received from many different avenues! The staff and volunteers here at SVASC; his mom; the doctors and staff at the Animal Hospital of Waynesboro (Dr. Reeder in particular!); and the support of all of you, our community, through shares and donations! Thank you for making is possible for Philippe to have a good life!

Philippe is just one of many of the animals that come through SVASC each year. Our aim is always to do the best we can for each of the pets that come into our care, but it is a job never done and ABSOLUTELY NOT POSSIBLE without the help of our community! Thank you for your continued support!

Philippe found his forever home through our fostering network. While “foster fails” are always appreciated, fostering is not intended to be a long term solution, it is meant as a further networking tool to save more animals! The foster pet your take in saves two lives; the life of the pet you have and the one that we then have space for! Fostering makes pets more adoptable as well! Foster pets are better socialized and don’t suffer from kennel stress that many pets that end up at a shelter are prone to. We are always taking applications to become a foster parent!
